About product

Valom 1:72, Handley Page Harrow Mk.II

An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine Handley Page Harrow Mk.II high-wing monoplane in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Valom. The set usually comes with resin and photo-etched parts and a decal sheet, which makes it possible to render the detail of the cockpit and the surface well.

The real subject

The Handley Page Harrow was a British twin-engine high-wing monoplane of the 1930s which served with the RAF at first as a bomber and later mainly as a transport aircraft. Its rugged structure with fixed landing gear is typical of the transitional period between biplanes and modern all-metal aircraft. In its day it was among the important machines of the RAF.

Building and painting tips

Cut the small resin parts off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate; use thin modeling cement for the plastic parts. Spray the areas with a gloss varnish before the decals go on, so that they adhere well without silvering, and even the surface out at the end with a matte or semi-gloss varnish. The photo-etched parts will bring out the interior and the fine detail.

Who the model is for

  • Collectors of interwar and early wartime British aircraft
  • Modelers in 1:72 scale with an interest in less common types
  • Those who will appreciate the combination of plastic with resin and photo-etch
  • Moderately advanced builders

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
