A clear cockpit canopy for a model of the Ki-44 aircraft in 1:72 scale. It replaces the corresponding part from the plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nakajima Ki-44 was a Japanese single-seat fighter of the Second World War, built as an interceptor with a radial engine. Among the Allies the code name Tojo became established for it. On a finished model the cockpit canopy is one of the most closely watched places, because you look through it into the interior, and its thickness and clarity decide how the whole model comes across.
A clear cockpit canopy for a Ki-44 model in 1:72 scale, intended as a replacement for the part from the plastic kit. The scope of delivery and the kit the part is drawn for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Handle the clear part as little as possible and preferably through soft paper; fingerprints are harder to remove from such a surface than they appear. Before gluing, try dry how the canopy sits on the fuselage, and make up any slack on the fuselage side, not by sanding the clear surface. Bond it with a glue intended for clear parts that does not fog the surface; ordinary super glue can permanently cloud a clear surface. The framing is sprayed through masks applied before painting, so that the clear surface stays clean. The specific way to prepare the part is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The part suits modelers who want a cleaner and thinner canopy than the base kit offers, and who have put work into the interior and want it to be seen.
The kit, paints, masks and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
