The late form of the Japanese trainer: 1:72 Kyushu K11W1 Shiragiku Late (Hi-Tech) from Kovozavody Prostejov, a rewarding subject for weathering.
Responsibility details are not available.
The last of the three K11W1 releases from Kovozavody Prostejov aims at machines from the end of the production run and from the last year of the war. This box too belongs to the Hi-Tech line, which the manufacturer reserves for more richly equipped packages.
The Imperial Japanese Navy originally deployed the Shiragiku purely for training, but at the close of the war these slow machines found themselves in special attack units and took off on one-way missions, above all during the fighting for Okinawa. Some of them served on patrol against submarines. Late examples carried simplified equipment and simpler finishes, because production was running under pressure from a shortage of material as well as time.
The subject invites a worn appearance outright: removed covers, chipped leading edges, dulled glazing. Build the finish on an uneven layer of green broken up by lighter patches and use a restrained wash into the engraved lines. Wheels lightly sanded on the contact surface will give the finished model a sense of weight.
To finish the build, count on your own glue, filler and set of shades, which are not in the box.
