The set replaces the wheels from the original kit with precisely cast resin parts with a crisp tire tread pattern and faithfully shaped hubs. The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American heavy fighter and reconnaissance aircraft of the Second World War with a characteristic twin-boom layout and two engines. A detailed rendering of the landing gear wheels markedly increases the realism of the finished model, because the wheels are among the most visible features of the underside of the airframe.
First wash the mold release agent off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Use respiratory protection when sanding. The tires are usually toned to a matte black-gray and the hubs according to the chosen scheme; the set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The set contains only the resin wheel parts and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
