Painting tips

Wash and degrease the figures before painting. It pays to unify them with a primer, which the paint holds to and which brings the shapes out. Belts, scarves and weapons stand out when you run a darker shading layer into the recesses and lighten the raised edges instead. It pays to keep the variety within bounds: a few repeated shades of clothing hold a group together better than forty-eight different combinations.
