A colored three-dimensional interior for the model of the Spitfire Mk.XVI in 1:32 scale, printed on decal paper. The parts are dipped briefly in lukewarm water and need no decal softener.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.XVI was a late version of the British fighter, powered by a twelve-cylinder Merlin engine from licensed production in the United States. It differed from the closely related Mk.IX precisely in the origin of the power unit. A large part of these machines received a cut-down rear fuselage and a teardrop canopy, which improved the pilot's view to the rear and on a model reveals almost the whole inside of the cockpit.
The sheet carries three-dimensional colored parts of the interior equipment printed on decal paper. They have real thickness, so once applied the instrument panel, the side panels of the cockpit and the seat belts do not look like a flat print. The shades, the labels and the dials are printed in production.
The parts have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the part out, leave it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing onto a clean, degreased surface coated with gloss varnish; a decal softener is not used on them, as it would attack the printed resin. Level the surface beforehand and remove any raised plastic details that the new part is meant to seat over. Work with tweezers and press down with a soft tool so that the printing is not damaged.
The set will serve anyone who wants a legible interior under the cockpit glazing without assembling photo-etch and without painting the dials one by one. The kit, paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
