An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. V Panther medium tank in the Ausf. G version (Sd.Kfz. 171) in 1:72 scale from Revell. The assembled model is roughly 122 mm long. The package offers the choice of an early or a late configuration, a rotating turret and decals for several period markings from 1944 and 1945.
The Panther Ausf. G was the most numerously produced version of the Panther tank and from 1944 it replaced the earlier Ausf. A. The vehicle had a reworked hull, a powerful 75 mm gun with a long barrel and a twelve-cylinder Maybach engine. The Panther was among the most technically advanced German tanks of the Second World War and was fielded on the Eastern Front as well as the Western.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the running gear before you close the hull. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush is ideal. A base of dark yellow with camouflage patches is typical of late German vehicles; an imitation of the Zimmerit coating is effective too, along with weathering with washes and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
