The choice follows the finishes that set American cars with big-block engines apart in the 1960s and 1970s. The paints are built for car bodies, so when thinned correctly they flow out into an even layer with no visible brush strokes.
The shades match the factory palette of machines such as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, Pontiac GTO or Shelby GT350. American production of that time was built on saturated, strongly colored finishes, which today make up a substantial part of the character of the subject, so on these models hitting the tone matters as much as accuracy of shape.
