The set replaces the landing gear wheels on a Tu-128 model in 1:72 scale. On a finished model the wheels are always in view, because they carry the whole machine and everyone who looks at the model close up looks at them. Replacement wheels tend to be more cleanly shaped and hold a circular outline better than the parts from a kit.
The Tu-128 was a Soviet heavy interceptor intended to patrol over vast territory where the airfields lay far apart. It was among the largest machines of its kind, had a crew of two and rugged landing gear to match its weight. That is exactly why the wheels do not disappear on a model but stand out, and it is worth giving them more time than other small parts when finishing.
The contents are a set of wheels for one model. The number of parts and the material are given on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions. The set is meant as a replacement for the parts from a kit; the kit itself is not included in the package. Check the extent of the set against the manufacturer's description before buying.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a short way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so as not to damage the outline of the hub. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts, as ordinary cement for polystyrene need not hold. Fit the wheels only once the paint on the gear legs has dried.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
