This is not a helicopter kit — it is an accessory that replaces the cockpit seats on the Westland Wessex HC.2 model in 1:72 scale from Airfix. The main added value is that the safety belts are cast together with the seat shell: you do not need to work with photo-etched parts, paper strips, or make the belts yourself.
The Wessex HC.2 has an extensively glazed cockpit, and the interior is clearly visible once the model is finished. Seats from a plastic kit tend to be thicker for molding reasons and lack attached belts; the resin casting is thinner, has sharper edges and naturally draped belts, which, once painted and lightly weathered, immediately lift the realism of the whole cockpit. Installation is a simple part swap — it requires no cutting into the fuselage or changes to the geometry.
For modelers building the Wessex HC.2 from Airfix who want a cockpit matching the quality of the rest of the modern tooling, without having to assemble photo-etched belts. Working with resin is easy, but it assumes basic experience with cutting and cyanoacrylate glue — it is not the first choice for a complete beginner.
