A plastic kit of the German PaK 40 anti-tank gun together with a truck in 1:76 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The PaK 40 was a German 7.5 cm anti-tank gun, the main weapon of its kind in the second half of the war. It stood on a two-wheeled carriage with splitting trails, the crew was protected by a low double shield and a vehicle or a draft animal towed it into position. The truck in the set completes the usual pair in which the gun traveled: the weapon behind the tail and the crew with ammunition on the bed.
The set brings plastic parts of the gun and the vehicle on sprues in 1:76 scale, that is, in the small range that suits tabletop dioramas and model railroads. The parts are glued with ordinary modeling cement for polystyrene; after taking them off the sprue, sand down the remains of the gates and the parting seams that run along the barrel and the trails of the carriage.
Wash and degrease the gun and the vehicle, then apply a base coat and only after that the paint. The barrel is the most noticeable part of the whole set, so line it up on its axis and sand the seam down carefully after gluing. A wash into the grooves and dusty wheel arches and the underside of the bed bring the assembly to life; in this small scale restrained shading looks better than strong contrast between light and shadow.
The set is for modelers of military vehicles in a small scale, for diorama builders and for completing scenes on a model railroad. The package contains plastic parts only, unless stated otherwise; paints, glue and figures are not included.
