Bright green is a clean, light and eye-catching tone that differs at first sight from the muted military greens. Modelers reach for it on racing cars, on agricultural machinery, on fantasy subjects and everywhere the color is meant to draw the eye rather than blend into the surroundings.
It also works well as an ingredient for mixing. Added to a dark green it produces a shade for bringing out edges and upper surfaces; with yellow it moves toward spring vegetation, and with a little white toward the pastel tones that suit the interiors and cabs of older machines.
The paints of this brand are established among modelers mainly for their predictability: a bottle bought a year from now holds the same tone as today's. On projects that lie part-built for long months and are painted in stages, that is a substantial advantage over mixing your own.
Eye-catching colors are best used on a model with some restraint. They look best when there are muted areas around them against which their depth can show. A whole model in bright green reads flat, whereas a green machine with a gray chassis, a dark interior and dirty wheels has depth and looks like a real machine.
