A saturated cobalt blue with deep color. For civil machines, racing paintwork and fantasy subjects.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cobalt is clean, deep and saturated in color, a long way from military gray-blue tones. On a model you will use it where the color itself is meant to carry the expression: racing car bodies, motorcycles, aerobatic machines, helmets, or on the other hand fantasy machines, where there is no need to respect a period palette.
Dark saturated blues tend to read as black on a small area. To keep a blue blue, a light base helps, ideally a white or gray one. On dark plastic the paint does cover, but it loses its sparkle and looks overcast.
It works with water, so it is thinned and cleaned up without solvents. The line is intended mainly for spraying, where thin coats give a smooth surface free of brush strokes. The contents have to be stirred properly before every use, because the pigment sinks to the bottom and unmixed paint comes out uneven.
The upper part of the packaging holds the number of the shade in a frame, and in the middle its name. To the left of the name is the gloss level and to the right the recommended field in which the paint is used. Tones intended for a particular kind of hardware also show the country and the period the shade belongs to.
Cobalt often meets white or silver in sharply divided schemes. For the edge to come out clean, let the paint underneath cure completely, press the tape down only along the edge and lead the nozzle at a right angle to its line. The paint then cannot get under the tape and the transition stays sharp with no need for touching up.
