A resin FAB-3000 aerial bomb in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. Printing in resin manages the massive body, the suspension lugs and the tail section in one piece. It is not an aircraft kit but separate armament to hang on a strong attachment point of a finished model.
The FAB-3000 is a high-explosive fragmentation bomb in the weight class of about three tons and it belongs to the heaviest munitions that tactical aircraft carry at all. Because of its weight and its dimensions it is hung singly and only on machines with a strong enough mount. For a modeler it is interesting precisely because of that disproportion: on a model in 1:48 scale it looks, next to the usual bombs, like a body from a quite different class and it visually changes the whole load.
Release the large part from the supports with a scalpel and sand the pads wet and with respiratory protection. The smooth body of the bomb gives away every scratch, so smooth the mark out with progressively finer grits. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Because of the weight of the part, consider strengthening the mount with a wire pin.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
