Black Aero Rigging Super Fine — rigging thread, 45 m spool

This is a modeling material, not a kit. The finest gauge in Infini-Model's aircraft rigging line is, according to the manufacturer, intended for 1:72 scale, that is for models on which ordinary rigging line would look disproportionately coarse. The spool holds 145 ft, that is 45 m, and the thread is black as made.

Use

• Bracing wires on biplanes and strutted structures in 1:72 scale.
• Antenna wire between the fin and the fuselage or the canopy.
• Fine control linkages for the flight controls and small cables in landing gear bays.
• The finest details on dioramas, where the thickness of ordinary line is a problem.

How to work with the thread

The thread is elastic, so it can be tensioned during fitting and holds its shape without sagging once fixed — compared with stretched sprue it takes handling of the model and does not snap. In small scale it pays to predrill the holes with the finest drill, lead the end of the thread into them with tweezers and fix it with a single small drop of super glue; trim the excess with sharp scissors only once it has dried. Fit the rigging only on a finished, painted and clear-coated model, because masking around tensioned lines is practically impossible. Any shine can be knocked back with a light mist of matte clear.
