The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet B-8M1 rocket pod in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for the external stores, not an aircraft model. The print can manage the dense cluster of launch tubes inside to their full depth, which is precisely what an injection mold cannot deliver.
The B-8 series pod is a magazine for small-caliber unguided rockets, carried under the wing by attack and fighter-bomber aircraft and by attack helicopters. It holds several dozen rockets fired in a rapid burst, so it covers an area target. The M1 version is meant for aircraft, while other versions of the same series are hung on helicopters. On a model the pod is a prominent cylindrical body with a dense cluster of tube mouths.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
