A round natural hair brush in size three. It holds enough paint for a continuous application and keeps its point for detail at the same time.
Responsibility details are not available.
In this range of round natural hair brushes, the number three represents the larger sizes, but it is still not a coarse tool. Noticeably more paint fits into the hair than with the small sizes, so when painting areas you do not go back to the palette so many times. It is precisely the number of returns that decides how the result looks: every fresh load means the risk that the edge of the previous stroke has already set up and a visible transition will stay in the dried coat.
A continuous application laid down with one load dries evenly and the area then acts smooth even after the model is finished. Natural hair holds a point at the same time, so with this same brush you can go from the base area to the trims and smaller elements without reaching for another tool. On figures in the larger scales or on vehicles it is a size with which a whole part can be managed without losing a clean edge.
Natural hair will take a great deal if it is treated decently: the paint must not dry near the ferrule, because the hair stiffens there and the point spreads. After work the brush is washed out in the direction from the ferrule toward the point and is left to dry lying flat or point down. It is not recommended to mix stiff pastes and fillers with it; another tool suits that. With care like this it will keep a clean point for a long time and will stay usable even for finer work. The difference against a worn tool is visible directly on a model: a spread hair leaves grooves on the area and the edge of the stroke stops being straight.
