A detail accessory in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models. The manufacturer describes it as a highly detailed fairing for the GSh-6-23 aircraft cannon, meant for models of the MiG-31; as the material it gives resin. The set replaces the simplified plastic part from the kit and does not make up an aircraft model.
The GSh-6-23 is a six-barrel rotary aircraft cannon of 23 mm caliber with an exceptionally high rate of fire. On the MiG-31 it is built into the right side of the fuselage behind the landing gear bay and is covered by an aerodynamic fairing that does not open in flight. It is precisely the shape of that fairing and its fine detail that belong among the places where plastic kits differ from reality the most.
For this set the manufacturer gives resin as the material. First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly, or the primer will not hold. Separate them from the carrier with a sharp scalpel or a saw and sand the cut. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. Lay down a filler primer before painting and do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
