Character Red is a rich red supplied in a semi-gloss finish, that is, with a silky surface between gloss and matte. Such a surface takes decals well and at the same time does not reflect sharp highlights, so the shapes of a model stay readable even in a photograph.
The name of the shade refers to the colors developed for figure and robot models, where clean, rich colors without grime are the norm. It will serve outside that field as well: on prominent areas of car bodies, on vehicle markings, on warning features and anywhere a red with no shift toward brown is wanted. Combined with semi-matte shades of the other colors, it keeps the whole model at a uniform level of sheen.
Stir the paint thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the instructions stated by the manufacturer on the packaging and use a thinner intended for this range. A rich red covers less well, so apply it in several thin coats and let them flash off between passes; a light base underneath will lift the color markedly. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand. Work in a well-ventilated space and close the bottle carefully after use.
The package contains the paint on its own. Thinner, cleaner and brushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
