A resin model of the pod of the Khibiny jamming system for the Su-34 in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The pod is carried at the wingtip and on a model it replaces a simplified plastic part or completes a kit that does not have it. It is not an aircraft model but a separate equipment accessory for a finished model.
The Su-34 is a two-seat strike aircraft with a wide armored cockpit in which the crew sit side by side. Because it works over territory covered by air defenses, its usual fit includes the Khibiny electronic warfare system carried in pods at the wingtips. The suite detects illumination by a radar and answers it with jamming meant to make guiding missiles harder. In the silhouette of the machine the pods take the place of the usual wingtip ending.
Release the part from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating face on abrasive paper on glass, so that the pod meets the edge of the wing without a gap. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The antenna covers at the front and at the rear tend to be in a different shade from the body, so spray them separately. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
