Tamiya Fine Engraving Blade 0.3 mm

A replaceable scribing blade from the Japanese brand Tamiya with a cut width of 0.3 mm. It serves for scribing panel lines and for emphasizing details on the surface of plastic models. The blade is clamped into the Tamiya handle for scribing blades; drawn across the surface it cuts a straight, sharply defined groove of the given width. The 0.3 mm width is a middle choice - wider than the finest 0.1 mm and narrower than 0.5 mm.

Use

• Clamp the blade into the matching handle and guide it along a straightedge or a strip of masking tape.
• Scribe repeatedly with a light touch until the groove has the depth you want.
• Remove the burr with fine abrasive or by polishing it over.
• Suitable both for restoring lost lines and for new panel work.
