Gloss red per the FS 11136 standard is a 10 ml lacquer paint. A rich red shade with a high gloss, used for warning and marking surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
The number FS 11136 describes a rich red in a gloss finish. For standardized shades, the gloss level is part of the specification, not the modeler's choice: the first digit of the code determines whether a paint is gloss, semi-gloss or matte. Gloss red appears on warning surfaces, hazard markings, and decorative elements.
The base is a solvent-based lacquer, so water-based products are of no use here. It can only be thinned with a product from the same system, in an amount that matches the batch's thickness. The volume is 10 ml, and the dried coat can be polished, which makes sense for gloss shades.
A gloss surface reveals every imperfection in the base, so preparation takes longer than the spraying itself. That does not matter for small warning areas, but for large parts it is worth smoothing the surface with a surfacer filler first.
For small red areas, it is worth applying the paint by brush, drop by drop, and letting it level out under surface tension. This gives a smoother finish than spraying, where most of the paint would be lost off the part.
