R15B-300 engine nozzles for the MiG-25P, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin set of exhaust nozzles for the R15B-300 engines for models of the interceptor MiG-25 versions, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces the exhaust nozzles of both engines on a MiG-25 model in the P, PD and PU versions, in 1:48 scale. The resin 3D print manages the thin petals of the variable nozzle and the internal detail that an injection mold cannot deliver because of the parting line. For the reconnaissance versions the manufacturer keeps a separate set.
The R15B-300 is a turbojet with an afterburner, developed for the MiG-25 and its flights at great speeds and altitudes. The P version is the basic interceptor, the PD its upgraded variant with a new radar and the PU the two-seat training variant. These machines differ from the reconnaissance versions in the nose and in their equipment, and that is why the recommended accessory sets differ as well. On machines in service the mouths of the nozzles tend to be strongly heat-discolored.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. The inside of the nozzles comes alive with metallic shades and a dark wash that brings out the petals and the actuating rods.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
