A resin set of exhaust nozzles for the RD-33 engines of a MiG-35 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. On a model the nozzle is one of the most conspicuous places: it is made up of dozens of thin petals, the viewer can see into it and the plastic version tends to be split into halves. Printing in resin manages this structure in one piece. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts.
The MiG-35 is powered by a pair of turbofan engines with an afterburner from the RD-33 family in an upgraded form. The exhaust nozzle has a variable cross-section formed by an assembly of moving petals worked by external rods. On this type both nozzles are set well apart, so the viewer sees them from behind and from the sides, and a simplified plastic part stands out there at once.
Release the nozzles from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating edge on abrasive paper on glass. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the inside before you fit the nozzle to the fuselage. Build the heat discoloration up in very thin layers of transparent toning shades, otherwise the result looks overdone.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
