A resin R-37M air-to-air guided missile in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print manages the long body and the thin control fins in one piece. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store to be hung under a finished model, typically under the fuselage of an interceptor.
The R-37M is a Russian air-to-air missile of very long reach, meant to hit targets before they can get into a firing position. It is carried above all by the interceptors of the MiG-31 family and by upgraded heavy fighters. For its category the missile is exceptionally long and heavy, which matches the distance it has to cover. On a model you will recognize it precisely by that length, which looks out of proportion next to ordinary medium-range missiles.
Release the long missile body from the supports on a flat work mat so that it does not bow. Sand the marks down with fine paper and wet sand, with respiratory protection. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Check the control fins against the light to see whether they are twisted. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
