A resin R-77 air-to-air guided missile in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. This missile is where resin printing pays off most of all: its grid fins are practically impossible to make from plastic in a small scale. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store to be hung under a finished model.
The R-77 is a Russian medium-range missile with an active radar seeker: after launch it finds the target by itself, so the carrier does not have to hold the illumination and can break away at once. You will recognize it at a glance by the fins at the rear, which are not solid but made up of a grid. That solution takes up little room in flight, works well at high angles of attack and has become the type's calling card.
The grid fins are the most vulnerable part of the piece, so handle it by the body. Cut the print supports away with a fresh blade over a work mat. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the grid in a thin coat from both sides so that the openings do not fill in. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
