For the MiG-31 wheels the manufacturer describes finely detailed nose and braked wheels in the weighted state and a nose gear mudguard of the correct shape; the parts are printed from photopolymer. This item is listed with the additional marking 3D.
The MiG-31 is a heavy Soviet long-range interceptor powered by a pair of D-30F6 turbofan engines with afterburners. It is one of the heaviest combat aircraft of all, so the main landing gear was given an unusual arrangement with the wheels set one behind the other and widely spaced, in order to spread the weight over an area. Weighted tires are especially pronounced on this type.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pad where it will not be seen. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. Lay down a filler primer before painting and paint the tires a very dark gray rather than black. Dust pigment on the sidewalls and in the tread gives the wheels depth. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
