A resin set of landing gear wheels for a MiG-35 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The manufacturer makes two wheel sets for this aircraft and this is the second of them. Printing in resin renders the tread pattern and the shape of the hub without the parting line that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for a model.
The MiG-35 follows on from the line that began with the MiG-29, but it has a reworked airframe, different equipment and a higher take-off weight. The landing gear therefore received a more robust arrangement: the nose leg with two wheels sits far back under the air intakes and the main legs retract into the fuselage. On a model the wheel is one of the few parts the viewer studies from every side.
Cut the supports off with a new blade and level the mating face on abrasive paper laid on glass. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water. Paint the hub and the tire separately and use a circular mask on the transition. Settle a thin layer of dust on the lower part of the tread with pigment.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
