Wheels for the Yak-141, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin set of landing gear wheels for a model of the Soviet supersonic VTOL Yak-141 in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This 3D-printed resin set replaces the landing gear wheels of a Yak-141 model in 1:48 scale. The wheels are modeled with the flat spot that the weight of the aircraft presses into the tire, so the model sits naturally on its base. It is not an aircraft model but a replacement for the simplified parts from the kit.
The Yak-141 is a Soviet supersonic aircraft with vertical take-off and landing, developed for shipboard use at the end of the 1980s. Besides the main engine with its rotating nozzle it carried a pair of lift engines behind the cockpit, an arrangement you will not find anywhere else. It never reached series production, but the test machines flew and their landing gear was built for hard vertical touchdowns. That is precisely why the wheels are sturdier than the size of the aircraft would suggest.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Fit the wheels with the weighted deformation so that the flattened area of the tire sits on the base, otherwise the model will not stand naturally.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
