A modeling paint from the Mr.Color range under designation C602, the hull shade of Imperial Japanese Navy ships per the Sasebo arsenal.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade belongs to the hulls of Imperial Japanese Navy ships and is tied to the Sasebo arsenal in the northwest of Kyushu. Japanese naval arsenals mixed their own ship gray according to their own specifications, so the resulting tone varied between them, even between two sister ships. A builder therefore chooses the shade based on where the ship was built or last docked, not a single universal gray.
Use the thinner made for this range and the mixing ratio per the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Mix the bottle contents thoroughly before working so settled pigment spreads through the whole volume; with gray shades, sediment shows up immediately, and the coat would otherwise come out uneven. Apply thin coats and let each dry. A heavy coat buries the fine relief of decks and superstructures, which a ship model has in abundance.
Wash and degrease the surface before painting; greasy spots will leave stains. It pays to break up a large hull surface: run a slightly lighter tone over the center of panels and keep the areas around seams darker, or the ship will look like one solid block. Compare the shade in daylight, since gray tones shift toward warm under artificial light. After work, wipe the rim of the bottle and close it carefully, or the cap will stick.
Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
