A Model Air set with German shades for two different theaters - the European and the North African. One package covers the gray, the dark yellow and the desert era alike.

German equipment changed in color during the war more than any other. It began with a uniform dark gray, the middle of the conflict brought the turn to a dark yellow base over which brown and green patterns were painted, and outside Europe a desert world of sand and gray-green tones ran alongside. Anyone building more than one machine needs all three periods, and that is exactly what this set is put together for.
It comes into play as soon as the base coat has dried. The routine differs by period: early equipment is sprayed in one pass and only the shading is worked on, whereas late machines are covered with a light base and only then do the patterns come over it. The desert variant has a logic of its own, because the sand faded quickly on top while the undersides stayed darker - on it the difference between the upper and lower halves of a vehicle is greater than a modeler expects.
The brand keeps the same ranges in three separate smaller sets as well, divided by years and by the African corps. This variant brings them together, so it makes sense for anyone counting on a longer run of German models; for a single project the corresponding smaller set covers what is needed. The shades are made for an airbrush, so the patterns come out with a soft edge.
