What the accessory is for

A scene in 1:48 scale stands or falls on the small things set out around the main model. A can leaned against the wall of a workshop, standing by the doors of a hangar or set down beside a barrel says that work really goes on in the place. It is exactly such objects that give a base with an aircraft or a vehicle a story and keep the model from looking like an exhibit displayed in an empty space.

What the set contains

The set is made up of watering cans of German pattern in the Large form, that is in the bigger of the sizes the line offers. The parts are separate and are not tied to any particular kit. The 1:48 scale is home to aircraft models and to part of the military vehicle range; a figure in it is not quite four centimeters tall and a can beside it takes up only a few millimeters.

Building and painting tips

• Because of its size, paint the part before you seat it in the scene; on a finished base you will hardly reach it.
• Thin the paint more than usual, as a heavy layer would flood the shape and the ribs on such a small part.
• Pick the handle and the spout out with a darker line, so that the shape of the can reads even from a distance.
• Before painting, degrease the accessory in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry.
• Bond the part to the base with a small drop of super glue, ideally with tweezers.

The accessory will be valued by modelers who build airfield or workshop dioramas in 1:48 scale, and also by those who are filling a display corner around a single model. The package holds the cans only. The model, figures, a base, glue and paints are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
