The 1:72 Boeing 737-200 JT8D engine with the cowlings open is a resin replacement for the engine nacelle in the maintenance position, for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A replacement powerplant cast in resin, rendered with the cowlings open. It shows the inside of the nacelle as it looks during maintenance on the apron, and it suits a scene with ground crew and equipment around the aircraft. It is not a model of an aircraft; it is a detailed replacement for the parts of a Boeing 737-200 kit in 1:72 scale.
The JT8D turbofan from Pratt & Whitney was among the most widespread powerplants in airline flying of all. The Boeing 737-200 flew with it from the end of the 1960s, and its slim, long nacelles hugging the wing closely gave the type a silhouette that cannot be confused with any later series. Machines of this generation lasted in service for decades, among other places on northern routes where their ruggedness was valued.
Before building, degrease the parts and check whether a thin film of resin has been left between the blades; it is removed with the point of a scalpel. Paint the inside of the nacelle and the opened cowlings before you close the assembly up, because the surfaces are hard to reach later. Metallic shades come out well on a smooth base, so sand the surfaces carefully and use a primer.
The set is an accessory to a build. You will not find paints, glue or the plastic base in it.
