A model paint in the shade RAF Azure Blue from the Gunze Mr.Color line, the manufacturer's part number C370. The shade matches the light blue the Royal Air Force used on the undersides of its machines in the Mediterranean.
Responsibility details are not available.
Azure Blue is a light blue with a greenish cast, which the Royal Air Force introduced for the undersides of aircraft operating over the Mediterranean and in desert areas. Against an ordinary pale blue it looks more saturated and the difference is clearly visible on a model, above all next to the sandy shades of the upper surfaces.
The most typical use is the underside of a machine in a desert finish, where the upper surfaces carry a combination of brown and sand and the underside carries exactly this blue. The shade also finds a use on machines operating over the sea and in dioramas as a supporting color.
The thinner and the thinning ratio follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging; use the thinner intended for this line. Stir the paint thoroughly before application, because the pigment settles at the bottom. Spray it in several thin coats and let them set, as a single heavy coat floods the detail and dries less well. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand, otherwise the coat will not hold properly. On desert schemes it is worth keeping the boundary between the underside and the upper surfaces soft, so raise the mask above the surface or spray the transition freehand. Work in a well-ventilated area and close the bottle carefully after use so that the paint does not thicken.
The package contains the paint itself. Thinner, cleaner, brushes and spraying equipment are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
