Responsibility details are not available.
A paint set from the IONIC range listed under the Real Heavy Metal theme. The designation Tarnished Metal names the color theme: metal that has lost its gloss and darkened, that is a surface with a matte film instead of a clean reflective area. The shades of the set are chosen as a scale of one theme, from a dark base to a lighter accent, so an area can be graded without buying further paints.
Tarnished metal suits places where it is to show that an object has lain for a long time or serves in an unfavorable environment: old ironwork, chains, hinges, vessels, machine parts, armor and the accessories of figures. It also works well as a darker counterweight to glossy metal surfaces, so that the whole model does not look the same.
Shake the bottle properly before use, as with shades having a metallic look the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply the paint in thin coats and let them dry, as one heavy coat fills the fine relief. The tarnished effect stands out when you keep the darker shade in the hollows and over the area and the lighter one only where the surface would be rubbed. Use the thinner intended for this range; the thinning ratio follows the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Unify the surface with a base coat and varnish the finished work at the end.
For modelers and figure painters who want graded shades of one metallic theme together. The paints are applied with a brush; for spraying, thinning according to the manufacturer's instructions is needed. The set serves for painting, and the model, brushes and thinner are not supplied with the paints, unless stated otherwise.
