US Loam 17ml

Vallejo Model Air US Loam, 17 ml

An opaque water-based acrylic paint from the Model Air range. The shade is a dark loamy brown, cooler than the rusty browns of the same range, and is used as the dark component of multi-color camouflage. The paint is supplied in a consistency ready for an airbrush.

Sealing with clear and decals

• The paint dries matte. Decals adhere unevenly to a matte surface and a white haze appears around them, so the area is sealed with gloss clear before the decals.
• Use a clear coat compatible with acrylic. Acrylic and lacquer finishes both work, but apply a lacquer one only as a fine mist, so that the acrylic beneath it does not swell.
• Once the decals and any weathering have dried, the whole model is sealed with a matte or satin clear coat according to the look you want.
• Apply the clear coat in several light layers rather than one heavy one — a heavy layer forms pools in the engraved lines.
• Sealing with clear also protects the acrylic film from abrasion during further handling of the model.

Who the paint is for

The paint is intended for modelers of ground vehicles who carry on after spraying with decals and weathering, that is who work through the whole procedure from the base coat to the final clear. It also suits as a dark earthy tone for diorama terrain.

A water-based acrylic paint. Ventilate and use a respirator when spraying both the paint and the clear coat. Keep out of the reach of children and store the bottle closed and away from frost.
