Vallejo Utility Paint Set — utility shades for WWII and WWIII

A set of acrylic paints from the Spanish manufacturer Vallejo out of the Model Color range, aimed at universal utility shades for military equipment and figures. The designation refers to wargaming systems set in the Second World War and in a fictional Cold War conflict; the shades themselves, though, can be used across periods and scales, wherever a basic camouflage needs to be supplemented with credible details.

Type of paint and thinning

Model Color are water-thinnable acrylic paints of a thicker consistency built above all for the brush; they cover excellently even in a thin layer. For an airbrush they have to be thinned with water or with Vallejo acrylic thinner to the consistency of milk, as unthinned paint would clog the nozzle. Brushes and the gun can be washed with ordinary water as long as the paint has not dried.

Use

• Painting details of equipment and gear with a brush: tools, wood, leather, rubber, metal parts.
• Once thinned, also suitable for spraying with an airbrush.
• Layering, shading and dry brushing, as the paint dries quickly and stands up to being painted over.
• Shake every bottle thoroughly before use.
