It is a silver paint with a rainbow sheen that shifts into further tones depending on the viewing angle and the light. The paint goes on straight from the tip, with no palette and no thinning.

Where the rainbow silver works

The shade aims at surfaces meant to catch the eye: wings and add-on sections, shields and armor edges, energy parts and decorative pieces whose surface should run through colors. It also serves on figures and accessories for other models, wherever a hint of a pearl or rainbow surface fits. On large unbroken areas the effect is lost; it stands out better on smaller parts.

How to work with the marker

Shake the marker thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles in the reservoir. Start the tip by pressing it on a scrap of plastic and check there first how the shade looks over the base your model has; the rainbow sheen behaves differently on a light and on a dark surface. Apply thin layers in continuous strokes and let them dry. Going over paint that has not dried yet smears the effect and leaves the surface blotchy.

• a matte clear coat suppresses the rainbow sheen, try it on a scrap first
• wipe the tip after work and close the marker carefully, or it dries out
