French Tank Crew Highlights

French Tank Crew Highlights - a Vallejo Panzer Aces acrylic paint

A bottle of acrylic modeling paint of the Panzer Aces line from the Spanish brand Vallejo. These are not figures and not a set; it is one shade. The line is built on pairs: a base shade and with it a counterpart with the addition Highlights, with which the raised places are lightened. Thanks to that, modeling can be put together from ready paints without mixing in white yourself.

Use

• Lighten an area step by step, not in one jump. Lay the shade on the tops of folds and edges and let the base tone show through beneath it.
• Soften the transition between base and highlight either with slightly thinned paint in several steps, or with a dry brush on sharp edges.
• Keep a dry brush really dry. Wipe the excess paint off on a paper towel until the brush hardly draws at all, and then pass it lightly across the relief.
• Keep the highlight to a smaller area than seems right to you. An over-lightened area looks chalky on a model.
• Let it dry between steps. Going into a damp coat will pull the paint beneath it away and the transition will be gone.
• Shake the bottle before the work and take the paint onto a palette, ideally a wet one.

Who it is for

For modelers of figures and of the crews of military vehicles who work with shading and lightening and want the counterparts of shades ready. If you are building a scheme from scratch, it makes sense to get the matching base shade of the line as well.

An acrylic paint thinnable with water. Work in a ventilated space and when spraying use a respirator and extraction. Keep it out of the reach of children and close the bottle after taking paint from it.
