IJN/IJA Aotake – AIR (acrylic, 17 ml)

A third generation water-thinnable AK interactive acrylic. Aotake is the characteristic blue-green shade with which the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service and the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force covered internal metal structures as protection against corrosion, for example the landing gear bays, the inside of the fuselage and the tanks. The paint sprays like a lacquer, but it is non-toxic and is thinned with water or with AK acrylic thinner.

• The blue-green anti-corrosion finish of the internal metal structures of Japanese aircraft.
• Landing gear bays, the inside of the fuselage and the wings, tank compartments.
• A shade shared by naval and army machines alike.
