The Brady Hound is an injection-molded plastic kit of a piloted combat machine from the Kyoukai Senki series, which is also known internationally as Amaim Warrior at the Borderline. The model is built by the Japanese company Bandai with snap-fit technology: the parts are nipped off the sprues, cleaned up and snapped together, with no glue. The sprues tend to be molded in several colors of plastic.
Kyoukai Senki is a mecha series whose machines have a more sober, rather military character compared with classic Gundam designs: a compact body, prominent joints and modular armament that can be swapped. The name Brady is carried by machines of one design family, and the manufacturer also makes a Brady Fox variant of this type. The subject is therefore not real equipment but a fictional design; what is judged is the silhouette, how finely it is broken up and the range of articulation.
Cut the parts off a little from the sprue and finish the remainder of the gate with a knife and a fine sanding sponge; with dark colored plastic white traces would otherwise be left on the edges. The military character of the subject positively invites spraying: a primer, the base shade, a matte varnish. Weathering works well on these machines in particular: a dark wash into the engraved lines, fine chipping of the edges with a dry brush and a light dust on the legs and the lower surfaces. Leave the joints and the pins without a heavy coat of paint, so that the model does not bind and holds a pose. Apply stickers or decals only over dry varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
