Six liquid pigments from Green Stuff World in shades of dust, each in a 17 ml bottle. For dusty running gear, roadways, the boots of figures and grimy engine rooms.
Responsibility details are not available.
Liquid pigments bring two things together: the color strength of a loose powder and the convenience of a bottle you can take from directly. The pigment is dispersed in a carrier liquid, so once applied it runs into the gaps and, after the carrier evaporates, a dry, slightly grainy layer stays on the surface. The result looks like settled dust, not like applied paint.
It is applied with a flat brush or a dropper straight into the places where dust would settle: on the undersides of fenders, into the corners of a body, on tracks, on the edges of steps and bases. The excess can be wiped off with a dry brush or a cotton swab once it has dried, so the density of the layer can be fine-tuned afterwards as well.
The layer holds on its own, but it rubs off when a model is picked up often. Anyone who displays or carries a model will appreciate sealing it with a matte clear coat - though that darkens the shade slightly, so it pays to try it on an offcut of sprue first. The shades mix with one another and also take being combined with dry pigments of the same brand.
