LP-44 Metallic Orange is an orange shade with a metallic effect, that is a paint in which, besides the pigment, fine reflective particles are dispersed. The result therefore changes with the angle of view and with the incoming light, which suits the bodies of cars and motorcycles, sporting finishes and surfaces that are meant to look painted on the model. The shade does not depend on scale; one bottle will serve on a car model and on accessories in another scale alike.
Use the thinner intended for this line and choose the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before work; with metallic shades that goes double, because the reflective particles settle at the bottom and without stirring the coat comes out uneven. Apply in several thin coats and let each one dry before laying down the next.
The surface underneath decides it. A metallic shade copies every irregularity beneath it, so sand the area smooth beforehand, wash it and degrease it. On a smooth and even surface the result looks richer. Compare the color in daylight; under a bulb the orange shifts toward red. Peel masking tape off carefully and preferably only once the paint is fully dry. A finished coat is usually covered with a clear varnish, which adds depth and protects the surface; try it on an offcut of plastic first, though.
Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
