Masking fluid in a pen with a 4 mm tip. It draws precise lines with no brush.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masking fluid built straight into a marker. There is no brush, no cup and no cleaning of bristles afterwards. The 4 mm wide tip draws a continuous line straight away, with no mixing and no waiting. The white trace shows up well on most surfaces, so you can see at once how far the mask has reached and where a gap is left.
Once dry, the fluid forms a flexible film that can be lifted off without residue. It can be overpainted with practically anything water-based, acrylic or alcohol-based, so it will serve for masking frames, lettering, chipped edges and irregular camouflage patches. Apply the paint in thin coats; a heavy coat tears along the edges when the mask is removed.
Do not leave the mask on the model for too long. After a few days the film hardens, bonds to the surface and may pull the paint underneath away when it is removed. Wipe the pen after use and close the cap carefully, or the tip will dry out. Before the first use, stroke it a few times on paper until the trace runs evenly.
Best of all where shaping tape would be needless work. The irregular edges of chipped paint, the round caps of filler ports, small windows or the outline under a figure's helmet are all traced out in a moment. Removal is easier with pointed tweezers or a toothpick, which lift the film at a corner so that it can then be pulled off in one piece.
