A sheet with horizontal board siding at a 1.5 mm spacing. A 15 x 30 cm sheet one millimeter thick, one sheet per item.
Responsibility details are not available.
The surface imitates American board siding in which every board has a milled lower edge, so a crisp shadow appears between the courses. The spacing is 1.5 mm, which corresponds to sixty-two thousandths of an inch, and the material is one millimeter thick. That is a stiffness with which the wall of a house stands on its own and needs no internal bracing.
In 1:35 scale one board comes out at 5.2 cm, in 1:48 at 7.2 cm and in 1:87 at 13 cm. It suits the front of a small store best, or the side wall of a wooden villa, or a lean-to beside a workshop. If you cut the wall out of the sheet together with the window openings, the edge stays straight and the corners only have to be butted together and backed from the inside with a strip.
Paint the base a darker brown first, let it dry and then drag a lighter tone over it with a dry brush, only along the edges of the boards. Under the windows it helps to suggest the traces of running water with vertical strokes of thinned gray. You make a cracked board by leading the tip of a scalpel along one strip in an uneven groove and bending its edges slightly outward. Do not throw the offcuts from the edges of the sheet away: cut lengthwise they make trim under the eaves, window frames and the little boards for boarding up a broken store window. Weathered wood is mixed from brown and blue, never from pure gray.
