The reddish-brown shade matches the British PC12 protective finish used during the First World War. It is a water-thinnable modeling acrylic paint from the Air Series aviation line, in a bottle with a volume of 17 ml. The paint is ready for the airbrush as well as for brushing, it has a satin surface and a durable film, and it dries through in roughly 24 hours.
Alongside the more widespread PC10, PC12 was the second British protective finish for the fabric covering of the First World War period. Compared with it, it looks markedly warmer, toward reddish brown, and it appeared on part of the machines and on individual surfaces. The PC12 shade reproduces that tone and in a build it goes well with the fabric shades, the wood of propellers and the metal panels from the same line. Because it is a saturated warm tone, it is worth modulating it slightly in a small scale so that large areas do not look flat.
The paint is intended for modelers of British First World War aircraft and for everyone looking for a muted reddish-brown acrylic for period machines and for accessories in dioramas.
The paint is thinnable with water and non-toxic, but work in a ventilated space all the same, use respiratory protection when spraying with an airbrush and keep it out of the reach of children.
