A three-part silicone set for mixing plaster: a 236 ml measure, a 946 ml bowl and a spreader. The scales are in milliliters as well as ounces and the containers can be folded.
Responsibility details are not available.
The three-part set solves the part of building landscape that is rarely talked about: what to measure the powder with, what to mix it in and what to get the finished compound out with before it hardens. The smaller measure takes 236 milliliters, that is 8 fluid ounces, and the large bowl 946 milliliters, which corresponds to 32 ounces.
Both containers carry a scale in two systems, in ounces as well as in milliliters. A ratio of water and powder that has proved itself once can thus be repeated even a week later, and with plaster mixes that matters more than any tool: they set by the ratio, not by feel. When the measuring is done by eye, one batch holds its shape and the next runs away or, the other way round, hardens before it gets onto the model.
The walls are springy and can be squeezed, so after washing the whole set takes up a minimum of space in a drawer. A hardened remnant does not hold on silicone, the bowl is simply flexed and the material falls out of it even where it has caught on the bottom. The spreader then serves to level the compound on an area and to press it into a mold for a rock formation.
The set will serve not only with plaster but with all compounds, pastes and glues for building terrain that are mixed with water. Powder and paints are not in the package. With more extensive dioramas it pays off to mix in smaller batches, because a mixed compound waits only a few minutes and the rest in the bowl is thrown away anyway.
