A precision modeling knife with a short blade for accurate cuts, cleaning parts up and work with masking tape.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precision modeling knife with a short blade. A short blade bends less under pressure than a long one, so it guides a cut more accurately wherever control over every millimeter is needed: when cleaning parts up, trimming thin strips, cutting out small openings and aligning masking tape along an edge.
Cut on a cutting mat or on a hard board you do not mind scratching, and run the blade away from your body. Do not rely on force: several light strokes give a cleaner edge than one stroke through the whole thickness, and the blade will not slip. Cut excess material and production marks off a little away from the part and even the remainder out by sanding, so as not to cut into the surface of the part. On soft materials a pull stroke guided with just the point helps.
A blunted blade is more dangerous than a sharp one, because it slips and calls for more pressure. Change it, therefore, before it stops biting. Put used blades into a closed container, not loose on the bench. Store the knife so that nobody can touch the edge by accident, and do not use it as a lever or a screwdriver; a short blade is stiff, but it snaps when twisted.
A cutting mat, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
