A styrene (polystyrene) section in the shape of the letter C, that is an open U section with flanges, from Plastruct. The section has a height (H) of 3.2 mm and a width (W) of 1.3 mm, the thickness of the material (T) is 0.6 mm and the length of the rod (L) is 375 mm. It is a modeling semi-finished product, not a kit. C sections serve as purlins, rails, frames and structural elements of mock-ups of buildings, halls, bridges and dioramas.
The section is cut with a sharp knife or a modeling saw, and the cuts are trued up by sanding. It is glued with ordinary cement for polystyrene or with super glue. The material can be painted like plastic models, best with a primer coat before the finish.
