RED LEATHER

RED LEATHER - an acrylic paint from AMMO of Mig Jimenez

This is painting equipment, not a kit: a water-thinnable acrylic from the coded range the manufacturer builds around painting figures and busts. The name of the shade refers to the color of tanned leather, that is to what straps, belts, holsters, slings, saddles and satchels are rendered in on figures. The shade is dark enough to work on its own, and at the same time it gets on well with the lighter ocher and brown tones used for wear and highlights on leather.

Use

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before every use.
• With a brush it can be applied practically straight from the bottle; for an airbrush thin it with water or with the acrylic thinner of the same brand.
• On leather a base coat works well, over it a dark wash into the folds and finally a drybrush in a lighter tone on the edges.
• Do not mix it with lacquers or enamels and do not thin it with their thinners - it is a different chemistry.
• Clean the brushes and the airbrush immediately after the work is done.

Who the paint is for

For figure painters and for modelers who touch in crews, equipment and small accessories on vehicles, aircraft and dioramas. Because it is a shade from the figure part of the palette, it is meant for small areas and for layering rather than for coating whole hulls. It also serves well in a diorama on horse harness, the straps of crates or satchels, that is everywhere a plain brown would look dead. Note that several other paint makers use the same name for a shade - the formulas differ, though, so do not top up a job in progress from another maker's bottle of the same name, but buy the same item again.

Keep out of the reach of children and close the bottle well after work. Ventilate and protect your airways when spraying with an airbrush.
